Safeguarding at Hickling Hacks
Because your child’s safety always comes first.
At Hickling Hacks, safeguarding isn’t just a legal requirement — it’s a core part of how we work.
Parents and carers place enormous trust in us, and we honour that by creating a safe, respectful learning environment for every student.
Whether sessions are delivered online or in-person, we take clear and proactive steps to protect young people and vulnerable adults.

Summary of Our Safeguarding Approach
We are guided by the belief that all children, regardless of background or circumstance, deserve to feel safe, supported and respected in their learning environment.
Key elements of our approach include:
A designated safeguarding lead (Kirsty Hickling), responsible for all safeguarding procedures
Enhanced background checks for all tutors connected through Hickling Hacks
Confidential reporting systems for staff, parents, and students
Clear policies on child protection, whistleblowing, and managing concerns
Secure online delivery – all sessions are conducted through approved platforms with parental oversight and safe communication practices
Collaborative safeguarding – we work in alignment with the safeguarding teams of any school or organisation we partner with
We understand that safeguarding is not just about reacting to concerns, but preventing harm before it happens — by fostering a culture of transparency, respect and awareness.
